ABOUT BASTAR UNIVERSITY

“Education means training people uplifting their lives” in a true sense preparing them for the challenges in the world being the main motto of Bastar University, a premier institution of post graduate teaching and research in the state, was established by an act of 2/09/2008. The Bastar University is one of the major institutions of higher education in Bastar region which predominated by tribal communities in largely devoted to postgraduate studies and is widely known for its excellence in research and for its distinguished faculty. The campus located near Dharampura -2 in jagdalpur has immense bio diversity and a place of silent learning which give the campus with natural beauty Bastar division comprises of seven predominantly tribal districts viz Bastar, Dantewada, Narayanpur  ,Bijapur, Kanker, Kondagaon and Sukma.

INTRODUCTION

The English department in Bastar University had launched in June 2015 with 60 seats.SOS English had committed to providing the academic programs with English language instruction that is top quality, challenging, international in scope, practical and program centered. We want all students to leave Bastar University with satisfactory to excellent command of all facets of the English language and an ability to think critically and act independently. We will develop in them a greater understanding of the diversity of English speaking people around the world and an awareness of the importance of bilingual communication today. We will also work with the other department to further tailor the students’ instruction in English to the needs of their specific programs. In this way they will learn practical skills that will enable them to work successfully in their career.

The English department in Bastar University strengthens the libral education to students by developing a deepened understanding of language and literacy, the value of critical reading and effective writing, and the richness of literature past and present.

The English department in Bastar University is committed to providing the academic programs with English language instruction that is top quality, challenging, international in scope, practical, and program centered. We will also work with other department to further tailor the student’s instruction in English to the needs of their specific programs. In this way they will learn practical skill that will enable them to work successfully in their carrier.

The English Department in Bastar University strengthens the liberal education to students by developing a deepened understanding of language and literacy, the value of critical reading and effective writing and the richness of literature, past and present.
